DE Course Load

  

Per our contract, as well as the 2005-2011 memo of agreement, the following rules apply to distance education courses with regards to how many classes a faculty member may teach online in any given semester. For the purposes of course load, online courses include both fully online and blended courses.

  • Faculty can teach up to 40% of their normal load (2 sections or no more than 8 credits) online, unless a waiver is granted.

     
    • Under extraordinary circumstances, and only with the approval of the Executive Dean/Campus CEO and the Association, a faculty member may teach in excess of forty percent (40%) of his/her basic load online in a given semester.

       
  • There are no restrictions on overload or adjunct load.
