SUNY Campus Climate Survey drawing winners: Last semester, the FA promoted faculty participation in the SUNY Campus Climate Survey because we know that it’s important for faculty voices to be heard, offering prizes including the popular FA Yeti mug, our ceramic union mugs, the FA branded laptop case and our new FA logo gray fleece jackets.
All faculty who completed the survey were encouraged to enter our special drawing, and we are proud to announce our winners: Professional Assistant II Kathy McCoy (Honors Program, Ammerman), Adjunct Instructor of Biology Jen Roberts, Adjunct Instructor of Drafting Michael Rubinstein, Assistant Professor of Counseling Carissa Scarfi and Adjunct Professional Assistant II Carla Sutherland (Special Programs, Ammerman). Congrats to our lucky winners!

- February 14 @ 12:30 pm — Southampton 224J, Ammerman
- Syllabus module for Brightspace updated: Each semester, we provide an updated Brightspace syllabus module that you can download into your Brightspace class website, edit and use in your classes. This one is reflects the syllabi template revisions distributed by Academic Affairs on January 13, 2025. Rather than upload a Word doc or pdf into your Brightspace sites, it is helpful to students to have a module where they can access each element of your syllabus individually—especially smart since so many of them access materials on their mobile devices. Go to the DE and Brightspace Resources page on the FA website and follow the instructions to download the syllabus module.
- FA office hours: We are again hosting open office hours so members can pop in and ask questions, share their concerns and stories or simply say hello. Zoom info will be sent by email.

Celebrate the FA's birthday on March 10: The FA was founded on March 10, 1970, and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2020. We remind our members to pause and reflect on the value of our union on March 10 this year. It has taken generations of union activists and untold hours of labor to develop the contract and benefits that we enjoy today. While we know there is always room for improvement, we also know that without the FA the college would be very different workplace today.
