- Join FA family and friends at the Mets: Rescheduled due to pandemic restrictions, the FA family and friends night at CitiField has been rescheduled for September 30! Ticket details will be shared later this summer, but in the meanwhile, be sure to save the date.
- Feel better this summer! PLOS One reports on the science of positive psychology: This summer, you can join over three million people who have taken the free online Yale course The Science of Well Being, a course that researchers say really can make you feel better! Psych News Daily reports that participants in The Science of Well Being "reported significantly greater mental health benefits than those who learned about the basics of psychology." The free online course takes about 19 hours to complete and can help you develop or reinforce positive mental health habits.
- FA and Benefit Fund summer hours: While Anita in the FA office and Mary in the Benefit Fund are working remotely, both offices are open this summer. Please continue to call or email with your questions. All six officers are available all summer long as well.
- Summer 2021 adjunct/overload pay dates: Faculty working during the summer sessions can expect to be paid as follows:
» 1st six-week session (runs May 24 to July 1): June 17, July 1 and July 15
» Eight-week session (runs May 24 to July 15): June 17, July 1, July 15 and July 29
» 2nd six-week session (runs July 7 to August 12): July 29, August 12 and August 26
PA’s, librarians, and members working summer OTA ten-week program and other* assignments are paid on five summer payrolls: June 17, July 1, July 15 and July 29 and August 12. * Other includes auto, special projects, reassigned time, coordinators, distance ed and applied instrumentalists.
Counselors are paid based on scheduled work assignments on six summer payrolls: June 17, July 1, July 15, July 29, August 12 and August 23.

- Fall 2021 classes start dates: Please note that day, evening and online classes for this fall begin on September 2, Saturday classes begin September 11 and Sunday classes begin September 12. The full fall 2021 calendar can be found on the SCCC website.
- EC meeting dates: EC representatives should plan to attend monthly meetings in the upcoming academic year on the following dates, unless otherwise informed. Most meetings are held on Thursdays at 3:45. We anticipate that we will meet in person as well as enable EC reps to join via Zoom for the 2021-22 academic year.
