In the first half of the fall 2025 semester, the FA Elections Committee is running several important vacancy elections—for grievance officer and for nine Executive Council (EC) representative positions.

Due to the expedited election timeline, it is imperative that you return your ballots as soon as possible to ensure their timely return to the FA post office box before October 24 at 11 a.m.

Read the details below and, again, return your ballots via U.S. postal service in time for your vote to count. The following sections explain the vacancies, outline our expedited election timeline and provide the official fall 2025 nomination form.

The vacancies

The positions for this fall’s elections include one FA officer and nine EC rep lines. The former is the election for our grievance officer position; outgoing FA Grievance Officer Kevin McCoy was approved by the EC at our May 29 meeting to continue in the role until December 31, 2025, but we need to elect his successor.

The EC rep lines include a few persistent vacancies as well as some that were introduced when the membership approved the Constitution revisions in spring 2025 to restructure the Executive Council. It is critical that each and every constituency has an elected EC rep from their own group; EC reps are your voice in the governing body of your union!

Anyone interested in serving as an EC rep can learn more on our website and, of course, contact me as FA secretary so I can provide more information and answer your questions. The following EC rep positions currently have vacancies:

  1. Ammerman Full-Time Faculty in Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Criminal Justice
  2. Ammerman Full-Time Faculty in Communication, Languages, Reading, TV/Radio/Film
  3. Adjunct PAs & Specialists in Instructional Labs
  4. Adjunct PAs & Specialists in Programmatic Areas
  5. Adjunct Faculty in English
  6. Adjunct Faculty in Mathematics
  7. Adjunct Faculty in Nursing
  8. Adjunct Faculty in Foreign Languages, ESL, ASL, Reading, Library
  9. Adjunct Faculty in Counseling, Education, College Seminar and Professional Disciplines (Professional disciplines are those that offer A.A.S. degrees or are more vocationally focused including Engineering, Automotive, Drafting, HVAC, Electrical Technology, Culinary, Interior Design and Fire Science.)
