JEDI encourages attendance at Journey to Aspiring Allyship book discussion
Cynthia Eaton

The JEDI Institute planning board is happy to help publicize that the Journey to Aspiring Allyship: Equity in Action group will be reading another selection this semester.

We will read and discuss the classic Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria by Beverly Daniel Tatum. Our selection is the 2017 edition, which was released on the 20th anniversary of the 1997 original.

Please email The Center for Social Justice and Human Understanding at csjhu@sunysuffolk.edu to receive a copy of the book. You'll also want to save the date for our book discussion:

  • Friday, November 19, 12 to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom

Contact me for the Zoom link if you'd like to join the book talk. We would love to have you join us.

No previous experience with Journey to Aspiring Allyship or with the JEDI Institute is required. Just grab a copy of the book from CJSHU or the library, or buy a copy for just $10.98 from the union bookshop Powell's and come talk with us!
