Each spring the FA holds elections for positions on the Executive Council (EC) in accordance with our Elections Procedures.

In odd-numbered years, it's half of the EC reps plus all officer and NYSUT/AFT delegate positions. Since this is an even-numbered year, we are hosting elections for the other half of the EC.

Below is the election timeline and official nominations form as well as the specific positions that are up for election. To make a nomination in your constituency, follow the instructions when completing and returning the official nominations form.

Only FA members in good standing may make nominations and participate in the election. If uncertain of your membership standing, please contact the FA office at 631-451-4151 or contact me by email (cynthia@fascc.org).

Executive Council positions up for election

As noted above, half of the EC positions are up for election in even-numbered years. The ones that involve full-time campus-based positions are handled differently than those that are college-wide positions such as professional assistants and adjunct EC positions.

  • In the case of full-time campus-based EC rep positions, elections are held by an FA member designated within that department.
  • In the case of at-large collegewide, constituent-based PA representatives as well as the adjunct representatives, the FA Elections Committee will conduct the elections by mail ballot.
