Promotion represents an important acknowledgment of the commitment our faculty make to our students, the college and themselves as they engage in meaningful and important activities that provide service to their department, their campus and the college while advancing their professional development. These activities are what make SCCC an amazing place for students to get their start in a degree program or to position themselves to enter the workplace.

The promotion process begins each spring with promotion workshops and A-Form submissions and concludes the following spring with recommendations to the college president by the promotions committee. It is a year-long process that faculty navigate, with the FA here to support you each step of the way.

Those faculty who began the process in spring 2021 will be contacted soon with information regarding their next steps. For them, the process will conclude in December and decisions will be announced in January 2022.

Promotion workshops will be conducted in February 2022 for those who are getting ready to begin the process or who want to get a head start preparing for it. I encourage everyone to attend one of the workshops, as they are helpful and informative.
