September 2019
Promotion is a major milestone in one’s career, and as the executive vice president I have an inside view of the great work our members are doing across the college. Reading promotion applications makes me very proud of our members, and seeing their hard work validated with a promotion in rank is very satisfying. Promotion means our members are being recognized and valued for their outstanding contributions to the college, and I can tell you first hand that our members are indeed doing outstanding work! Service to the college, service to the community, and personal and professional growth are the areas being assessed when a member applies for promotion. Our members are shining in their roles both on and off campus, and highlighting the excellence of our institution in the communities they live and work in. In addition, they are going above and beyond in their on-campus roles. Promotion workshops are offered each spring on all three campuses, and I urge any member to attend one. Even if you are not scheduled to apply for promotion in the spring, attending the workshop is an excellent way to get helpful information on how best to position yourself for future success in the promotions process. Promotion workshop dates and locations will be announced early in the spring semester. In the meantime, please join me and the rest of the FA Executive Council in congratulating our members on their promotions this year! Full-time faculty to professor
