After two years of our very popular New Member Discussion Series, we've realized that we are, well, popular, both with new and veteran members.

Thus, while we have a new name—the Faculty Association Discussion Series—the program still consists of four professional development panel discussions throughout the year in cooperation with the Office for Faculty and Professional Advancement.

While open to all of our members, we continue to especially encourage new members to attend.

The sessions are moderated by the chair of the New Member Program and feature members of the faculty. Topics are intended to help new members shape their career paths at SCCC with purpose, efficiency and confidence.

A typical discussion features a panel of approximately four faculty members—ideally representing the three campuses, and also teaching faculty, librarians, counselors, specialists and professional assistants—reading short papers on the designated topic. A moderated question/answer session follows.
