FYI: Highlights from the Executive Council and other news of note

 

  • FA and Benefit Fund summer hours: The FA office will be open this summer on Monday through Thursday from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the exception of being closed from July 1 to July 5.

    The Benefit Fund office will be open this summer on Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the same exception of being closed from July 1 to July 5.

  • Summer 2019 adjunct/overload pay dates: Faculty working during the summer sessions can expect to be paid as follows:

    • First five-week session: June 20
    • Eight-week session: July 3 and July 18
    • Second five-week session: August 1
    PA, library and other assignments will be paid on all four summer payrolls. Counselors will be paid according to their counseling schedule.
  • Promotion deadline: The deadline for full-time faculty applying for promotion effective September 2020 is June 17. Faculty must submit three copies of their A Form: the original to their campus executive dean, one copy to their academic chair or supervisor and one copy to the FA. Questions should be directed to Executive VP Courtney Brewer.
  • 2019-20 holidays: The following represents the paid holidays for counselors, librarians, PAs, specialists and coordinators for the upcoming academic year.

In addition, there are three (3) unscheduled holidays for librarians, counselors, coordinators, professional assistants, and specialists and three (3) unscheduled holidays for twelve-month faculty. The unscheduled holidays will be added to N or U days, which can be used for religious observances.

The following is a summary of the 2019-20 N and U days:

Counselors and librarians 37 + 3 = 40 N days
Ten-month coordinators (lab) 42 + 3 = 45 N days
Ten-month PAs and specialists 9 + 3 = 12 U days*
Twelve-month coordinators (instructional) 7 + 3 = 10 U days
Twelve-month counselors 35 + 3 = 38 N days
Twelve-month PAs & specialists 7 + 3 = 10 U days

  • Fall 2019 classes start dates: Please note that day and online classes for this fall begin on September 3, Saturday classes begin September 7, Sunday classes begin September 8 and evening classes (with a start time of 4 p.m. or later) begin September 9.
  • EC meeting dates: EC representatives should plan to attend monthly meetings in the upcoming academic year on the following dates, unless otherwise informed. Most meetings are held on Thursdays at 3:45 in the Southampton Building at Ammerman.
